Anyone got a coil shock on their trail bike??
I had a Fox CTD shock on my covert and I wasn't too impressed.
Tempted with a CCDB, but I have heard that the new rockshox monarch plus is mint.

Only one ride in but the new monarch plus debonair felt awesome, off to hammers next Sunday for a full day on it. Felt bottomless and tracked the ground really well. I'm not gonna pretend I know loads about suspension all I can say is 30% sag, 4/5 clicks of rebound (there are 20 clicks) and on fully open it felt so controlled descending, even climbed well, after each run we turned around and biked back up the dh runs and it didn't bog down

I am not arsed about the weight of having a coil shock (I'd be getting a ti spring for it anyway). Just want to know what people think of it performance wise My mate had one on his mega but he chops and changes stuff so often, so I am not even going to ask for his opinion.

If the CCDB is set up properly then there is not much to touch it. Fair enough it is heavier than an air shock but to be able to get out of the saddle on the ups and still get loads of grip like an hardtail and the traction it has in the flat corners is incredible. I have coil on both front and back of the Covert and love the way it feels when compressing into corners. I always had the feeling of been over damped with air? If that makes sense, it was like having too much HSC on. The coil feels poppy and but not in an harsh way. It's nearly 4 I think I'm talking shite now gonna get ready to go home
