Took delivery of my new downhill frame from CRC yesterday. My heart sank when I seen the state of the box as it was completely burst open. Half expected some damage to the frame but luckily it escaped unharmed Very pleased with it and it looks so much better in the metal. The black is difficult to photograph but has a slight pearl effect to it. Just can't wait to ride the damn thing

So you bought it then! Nice to see you did it! Now get it built! Couldn't afford not to at that price. I would like it built for next summer but it'll all depend on finances. Our central heating has packed in today so that's thrown a slight spanner in the works

Still undecided on the spec Any rough ideas? I'm quite happy to keep mines a low spec as i'm sure i'll brake a few parts

Black boxxers would love awesome on that, throw in some of the yellow NukeProof DH wheelsets and you've got a killer rig.

Euan, I agree on keeping the spec pretty sensible as you're right, stuff will definitely get broken. As much as I'd love to stick some Fox 40s on it I really can't justify the price of them. So it'll be boxxers, saint chainset, zee mech and shifter, XT brakes........ or something along those lines

Could it be worth looking at the SLX kit? Pretty cheap and will do the job, you only really need it to get moving, then spend the money saved on Saint/Hope/Whoever brakes?

Zee stuff is pretty inexpensive so will probably go for that and I'd rather get decent cranks and wheels from the start instead of buying twice
