nomad is slacker than the covert
I had a covert and I liked it but I wasn't keen on the shock or the brakes so I can't really comment. If the bike had been spot on for me then maybe I would still have it lol...

I'm gonna say the Covert, my reasoning? I've seen a fair few SC's about - which is no bad thing, but I'd rather have something more bespoke and unknown now..

The covert is better from 2013 when the rear travel went upto 160mm before that I think they where 150mm.
I've not been on any SC so I'm not gonna compare. Although I do love my Covert it's a surprisingly good all rounder.

My thinking was the covert with offset bushes and a Works angleset headset.. leaves money to get a nice set of new pikes. Whatchdya reckon?

People who want to be different get on my nerves
Just get what makes you happy regardless of how many people have them
Orange 5s are common as fuck but I would still get one if it was the right bike for me.

Don't get me wrong, it would be boring if everyone was the same or had the same bike
But it's pretty pathetic to not get something just because you want something that isn't as common. Wouldn't even think about denying myself getting the perfect bike just because they're common.

P.s the newer covert is slightly better because the drop outs aren't part of the frame and it isn't a QR axle, but it's still a lush bike mate
Get some pics uploaded when it arrives

On the other hand, I wouldn't get a bike just because it's a SC and everyone is supposed to aspire to that.....

I was gonna get a new bike, I would tell you the brand, but you've probably never heard of them.. *puts on hipster specs and cycles off on a fixie*

I couldn't agree with you more Betty When I bought my bike ( nomad ) way back in 2007 it wasn't because I wanted to be different ..I just wanted the best fcuk off bike possible for the wad of cash that was burning a hole in my pocket ..I was making obscene amounts of money back then but also knew that the bike was going to have to last a while ..and so it has turned out. I've got to say though that not once has the bike let me down and I view it as money well spent . Technology and other bike brands have caught up and overtaken my machine and having tested other rigs from other manufacturers I'm the bloke who has been left behind ..bottom line is that I am not in a position to change it yet from a financial point of view ..( at least another year away) but having had the opportunity to test other bikes the brand that I personally keep coming back to is Santa Cruz ..because nothing I have ridden comes close to the 5010 c Carbon which right now is the bike I would buy if I had the spare cash . I was when I made my comment about Orange bikes being slightly tongue in cheek with my remarks ..I have always liked them ...up to the point of testing one at a demo day at The Bike Place at Kielder earlier this year . It was a 5 650b and quite a bit of time was spent setting up the bike for my weight & height ..I thought that it was bloody awful...a total let down and I so very much wanted to like it However if I found a bike out there tomorrow made by Raleigh which suited me more ..i would have it in a heartbeat ...I'd just put Santa Cruz decals on it ( lol ) !!!
