With wor lass leading the good life on a girls Christmas weekend /dinner dance at Slaley Hall right now ..I have multiple brownie points in the bank for an mtb trip away next year ..there lies the problem ! As already mentioned a trip to Penmachno and N.Wales has been mooted for early spring ...and now another trip has been kicked into the mix for early June up in Scotland . 2 nights away ...3 rides staying in the Braemar/ Ballater area:- 1. Early start ..drive up to ride Linn of Dee 26k 450 m climbing. 2. Mount Keen, 55km 1700m climbing 3. Loch nagar , 44km 1450 m climbing ..drive home after! I am only likely to go on one of these trips ..which one ? Just to confuse things further ...I have also suggested that the booking I have made for the Barrowburn camping barn in April be reduced to one night ( Saturday ) and now be used as one of the stay over points to tackle the new long distance North / South Northumberland route .. The Sandstone Way which is due to launch in the spring . This would rule out the trip to Wales ..but I could wangle this into the mix as it is a very inexpensive trip ..passing as it does through my home village for one of the nights ! What would you do ?
