Jay, I have been speaking to Will and he said i could have his place on the trip. sign me up! shoud be a right laugh, looking forward to doing Snowdon again. Also are people heading over on friday night? And where are we staying? (postcode wise) Thanks Good stuff. I'll post the details when I finish work tonight. We're meeting at Penmachno on the Saturday morning, time tbc. After riding Penmachno we're heading to the camping barn together. From there, some are riding CyB and some aren't, totally upto you. We go up Snowdon when everybody is awake on the Sunday morning. I think we're gathering for a pub lunch when we've done Snowdon then heading home.

What time do you realistically think youll be heading up, theres a few of us Lancastrians been lurking around keeping and eye on this and hopefully plan to join you, I didn't want to commit too soon as I had been felling shit on and off since feb and its not a ride to tackle when your not feeling great but I'm finally getting there now.

Difficult one mate but the earlier the better for me. Don't want to feel we are racing the clock but obviously with 12 lads it'll be a slowish process getting brekkie sorted and then up to the mountain. I'd like to think we'll be at the foot of Snowdon for 9?.......

I appreciate you lads wouldn't want to stay that way and then end up having a late start. 9am sounds okay, just like a week day with a 6am get up. will confirm nearer to the time who's coming for sure.

When I did Snowdon we started the push up at sunrise barely able to see, what it did mean though was that on the way down it was quiet and the only people on the mountain were facing us and could get out the way
But I appreciate not everyone will be keen on a 6am start, especially if we have a few beers

I'm with you Nelly. I know it's a silly o' clock start but I ain't going to get pissed on the Saturday anyway - I can do that all year if I want!
I'm there to do Snowdon - I'm more than happy to have a couple of cans on the Saturday night after our days riding and get me head down early after having some scoff. It's all about Sunday for me so I'm ready to go as early as needs be.

Tbf were not racing up Snowdon, so Traffic isn't an issue. Rangers descent sees very little walkers... As most walkers choose to walk back down to llanberis

I'll go with the flow - there are a few of us who have done this before so I'm willing to be guided.
Would you do it on a HT?

Don't see it as a mountain, see it as a massive DH track

I'm on my phone now, I'll post a link tomorrow. To be honest, we're probably better off waiting till we're there and deciding what to do then!? Really would like to do some riding on the Saturday though aswell as Penmachno!

I I would rather be on a full suss with my full face, just incase That clip of Dan Athertons ride down Snowdon looks fairly epic to me as far as descents in the UK go! I think you guys might get fed up of the skills area after 5 or 10 minutes with all the kiddies pottering around there. Theres a nice flowy bit on the mintaour thats only a few minutes ride in that would better. You could also do the beast up until the first fire road at the bridge which would be a good half hour of fun stuff and no climbs, you can then loop back on the minatour towards the trail head. Last time I went I did the beast (the parts that were open and I enjoyed the first few miles of it so much with a great flowy and jumpy bit through something that looks like an ampitheatre cut into a clearing. I did those again and finished on the minatour. I had hired a bike from there so just trying to time it right to take it back before they shut. Something like this called adam and Eve its within minutes of the start. Theres a similiar section but with more rocks and a few small drops (from a fuzzy memory) within 20 minutes of the start on the Beast.

Let's not forget, non of us are Atherton!... And none of us at his or indeed her level... There's fast parts, and everything is rollable or avoidable. And we have the option of riding down as fast as our abilitys can take us.
