By the way ..you have done yourself out of a mile ! 43 ..according to Strava ....but I was genuinely surprised to see that there was just over 2,000 ft of climbing .... in 43 miles ! All the same in these conditions ....great effort and 10 /10 for sticking your nose out of the door ..especially if you had the same amount of wind blowing as we had yesterday !

well done boys, good effort and it`s nice to see you`ve had a beer named after you too gaz
I`m the same as you when it comes to having drink go out of date at home.a couple of weeks ago I cleared a load of stuff out of the cellar and chucked it down the sink and replaced it with new stuff just in case someone fancies a beer/cider/sherry/wine over xmas.it`ll probably end up getting tipped in 12 months time

Thanks yeah quite flat round the pines way, bloody windy in places , and boggy as well so made it a tad hard going .. Funny as if you hard 20 miles over to derbyshire your climbing would of been 6000 ft lol

Don't get me wrong Adam ... I wasn't in any way criticising ..just surprised at the height gain for the distance covered Having had an early night to enable me to get 2-3 hours of riding locally before the match starts this afternoon ..and then awoke to find a dark , grey , mizzly morning with a 26 mph wsw wind blowing in my face ( and that was just taking some rubbish to the re-cycling bin !) ..I'm really finding it hard to motivate myself to get off my arse and get out there ...and most probably won't ..so can only applaud the fact that you and Gary did !

Ravenshead, blidworth, rainworth, is where the climbing came in... Pines is very flat!... Certainly not worth driving there to do a loop!... I could of bumped a bit more climbing in, but in all honesty... I don't think I'd of made it round... I've only bonked once... And I reckon I had another 5 miles at most left in me... Not used to that distance on a 16kg bike!... In those conditions! Boy o boy! Bring on the fat bike!..

It's fantastic in the summer evening, for a quick 45min-1hr blast... And try and find the DH bit. Section 11...
