I've finally gone 1x10 on the Chief, I've always loved the look of a single ring up front and the extra space on the bars. I can now fit my Reverb on the LH side under the bars. I wasn't a massive fan of the front mech or the 2x10 gearing tbh, hardly ever used the big ring and was pissed off with the amount of crap that collected behind the 2 front rings. Now, much cleaner, much simpler, much lovelier  looking forward to trying it out tomorrow, got the pussy cog so I should be covered. ![]()     |

i've put a 32 ring on the Spectral and stripped the forks off my downhill bike

Looking good. I still like red detail on mainly black bikes, I'm going to add some red into my stealth in the new year.
Today I have built up a new hardtail. Not for me but a 24" girls Saracen for my 8 year old. It came shoddily set up gearing and brake wise but happy enough with the quality and the frame looks great. It's probably on the big side, plenty of growing room, so set the saddle forward bars swept back, there was 3 quite deep spacers so I've put them all above the stem. Hopefully it will be a better fit now.

:DFriday we went out into a sea of porridge like mud - I was glad that was my last ride with double rings and a front mech. Now even in the gloop it will be easier to look after. I wish I could have got a bike that was 1x11 but the cost of replacement parts put me off. Maybe in the future when the prices come down but for now - 1x10 + a pussy cog is the way forward for me. |

I have done absolutely nothing to mine for weeks lacking some real motivatin, don't know if I should build the Orange back up or just stick with the hard tail or build orange up n have a choice really just can't get the get up n go to do any of them .
Not riding is doing it for me need to get my arse out soon or it will never happen again .
Just need a cheep bike rack for the car as roof bars gona cost me over £150

Cleaned the Rag after the mega-gloop ride on Friday described by mz.
Then cleaned and washed all my kit.
Then cleaned inside the car.
Then cleaned the patio and garage where I'd cleaned the bike.
I think we did about 10 miles!
PS I agree mz, the 1x10 looks much "cleaner". |

If you insist lol That chain looks remarkably clean compared to it's surroundings. Do you use squirt lube?Or do you have special clean mud around you? |

Went out on another local ride today... Ragged it down a nice little trail , before finding what i can only describe as the steepest, most technical piece of trail that i've ever ridden. Took me 4 attempts to get down it, with an OTB and a couple of near misses! Would upload the GoPro footage but the camera levels off the footage pretty badly so it doesnt look half as steep.
