Things doing my swede in. My hollowtech 2 BB is creaking like a goodun. Is it usually just a case of take it out pop the cover off and give it some new grease? ive done just about 500 miles on it so far and punished it with sand being submerged in water while riding, spinning and in mud.

Pop new grease in and see what happens, cranks may not be fully tightened up, I had that problem not too long ago.

the creaking sound isn`t always coming from the bb,even when you think it is.check seat post clamp, seat rail bolts,in fact it`s good practice to do a general bolt check every now and then. if it`s a push fit bb they`re pretty shit imho.

Defiantly the BB on this I was riding out of the saddle to check because ive had the annoying saddle seatpost creak before Marsbarman, ill pull it all out an have a nose. on the HT2 how to you get the facing off though? I remember it had non serviceable plastered all over it when I put it in.

Well, this is confusing, the creaking has stopped on its own. No idea why did ten miles today creak free. Bikes being stripped down later this week anyway for a proper clean up and service but still, I'm confused!
