Chest ends up being too wobbly with most mounts. 4:3 aspect, 960xwhatever since it gets a bit more height to the frame and therefore more bike in shot.

I will be asking a lot of go pro questions over the next week or so and this is one of them. Think I will try the helmet mount first as i don't really fancy having the chest mount on tbf. Whats the handlebar mount like, is it too bumpy?
Cheap as Chips, which one you got. Let me know how you get on. I'm not brilliant with technology so a little nervous getting it set up!
What software do you use on your laptop? is it the gopro one?

I've been using the £99 GoPro for a few months now. I must say its the Chest Mount for me. It gives a much better perspective as you can see the trail, bars and hands all in one shot. It does get wobbly but that could be due to the cheap chesty that i use. You may have to buy the 'J Hook' aswell as the normal one doesn't give enough range of adjustments The Helmet Mount works well if you're following someone, however it really flattens out the trail IMO. The weight of the cam is also quite noticeable, especially when leaning your head, and it also gets shakey. I use the proper GoPro helmet vent mount but i think the wobbles down to the helmet shaking Due to me only having the cheap one, i usually shoot in 1080/30 UltraWide however i sometimes use 720/60 as it gives smoother footage when riding fast or if its abit bumpy At the moment, im using an older version of GoPro Studio due to my PC only running XP! It works well, and is quite easy to use. The only real problem i have with the cam is the video quality. When viewing in the GoPro studio, it looks really crisp, however when exported it turns quite grainy, less crisp and abit laggy. This may just be my old PC but its really annoying I want to get a Gorilla Pod to try take some cool stills with. I really like the time lapse setting. Underwater quality (in the sink!) looks great, and i cant wait to try it out in the summer down the beach Heres a still i took on it on Sunday Heres a little video with some of my riding clips mashed into one. Yeah the qualitys not the greatest and the song choice is abit off but it gives you an idea of the different mounts www.pinkbike.com/video/391047/

Helmet only, just think if I come off with a chesty sticking out at the proper angle it will crush ribs etc I had a faceplant straight onto the camera, the camera came away on impact and it felt no worse than a normal facey with just the bag buckles on your chest... Camera survived too with no damage! Ive yet to hear any horror stories regarding the chesty Saying that, wasn't Micheal Schumachers head injuries caused due to the GoPro?

I do a lot of gopro stuff on and off the bike (some of yous may have noticed haha) Chest with camera mounted upside down every time for the bike. Tried mounting on top of helmet but the perspective looks awe full. Yea got a gorrilla pod for off the bike stuff and the remote, great for timelapse and selfies (my profile pic is gopro and gorilla pod) would never be with out one now!

I always had mine on a chesty. The camera was mounted upside down.
Once i'd shut the annoying creak up, it was great for me.

I've got two mounts on my full face, one on top and one on the side which gives a nice change of perspective, gonna invest in a chesty as well soon and try out the editing software, Les Gets again in July so thinking same run a few times with different views, speilburg watch out.

I really like under the helmet visor, but it only works on a full faced really. You can see the bars like with a chesty but it doesn't wobble as much. A lot of the footage from timbos recent spain vid was shot from under the visor. Also Claudio's boss World Cup track preview vids are taken from this angle so there must be some truth in it!

Chesty - though I will be experimenting with various mounts over the coming weeks, making a bit of a vid for the Wife and kids to keep to remember the old man with.
