Really caught in two minds of where to ride this morning and the car being frozen up lead me to stay fairly local and explore some new tracks. Headed into peel park coppice for the first time for a poodle around and get some climbing miles in.
After a few too many dead ends I left the area and headed over hambledon moor which pretty much frozen on every smooth bit if trail so the safest bet was to aim for any stony, rocky areas or running water. Had a few spin out on unavoidable ice and fell through large puddle of ice which I was gingerly walking across and ended up knee deep in mud. Thank god for the sealskins.
Unfortunately the locally famous fairy steps had too much ice for my liking so I decided to head over the hill towards Loughclough reservoir and over towards crown point.
bang on 20 miles and 2690ft of climbing.
Gunner style photos to follow, in the absence of fencing over the moors I have substituted with trig points and stones instead.
