Youre running a Cane Creek shock right? Got to go for BOS Forks then Be wrong to run a Kashima Fox with a light skin CC! Just kidding, i say you go with the BOS, as it looks like thats what you want the most

For bling, BOS..... But for serviceability, and availability of spares... this years fox 36, Id go as far to say.. They're best fork currently on the market, now they've sorted the last couple of years shitty cartridges out!... These? link
Aren't the service intervals absolutely ridiculous? I appreciate that people don't stick to the recommended intervals but, you know.. Also, and I know it's probably a daft question but, will these 'feel' different to my 32's? I know my forks and these 36's are in completely different ball-parks but with Rockshox, they all have a familiar 'feeling' to me.. Yes they're the ones, fork service intervals are a little silly, I've always bought kits and serviced my own, YouTube and all....usually every 1000 miles... The 36's will feel a lot different, plusher and stiffer... And with the longevity of pikes now being questioned with their "squelching"" issues... And service nightmares of BOS I'd deffo favour the 36's...

That's fair enough. As long as you know what to expect. I'm not sure riding style would make much of a difference really. The advantage of a Pike or 36 over the Deville when it comes to servicing is that you can do them yourself really easily, while doing the same to a Deville is next to impossible, as you can't get hold of the oil and there are no instructions anywhere. My Pikes get a lowers and air spring service every 3 months (either by myself or SRAM tech), and this has been keeping them happy. I expect you could do the same with the 36, so it would save quite a lot in service costs. It's getting harder and harder to decide and you add to that lol.. My heart say's Deville, my head says Fox. Get the devilles, not as common and you'll be proper gangsta!!!

I've looked at the specs of some DVO's and they seem impressive forks.. Can only see them in green though and that would like, totally clash with my colour scheme!

Someone mentioned that if you got something else you would always be thinking of the Devilles. I think that's going to be true.
Also if for some reason you didn't like the Devilles or they were giving you issues you could sell them and put a set of 36's on.

I will be getting Devilles and, like you say, can get rid if I don't like them! Can't wait until payday now

Looking at last year's used forks, they seem to sell for between 6 & 800 so you're probably not far off the mark.

It's a deal I can't believe that people take a £500 drop on their forks . That's madness

Don't think this will affect your judgement ..but I have been running the Fox Float RC 2 36's on my Nomad for seven years without fault .. If anything it's maybe too much fork for my style of riding ..but plush ..real plush ! There have obviously been improvements over the years ..but in terms of reliability these baby's have never let me down ! I can't really comment on the Bos ...as I have no experience of them ..and only know what I have read on here and in bike mags ...some excellent and some not so good ( mainly due to servicing issues..) Why do you need so much travel anyway ...? I've got a set of Fox forks on my 456, lower end 32's. I bought them with the expectation of being blown away and it just never happened! Like I say, they are just basic forks and I would be interested in knowing if the 'characteristics' of Fox forks changes the higher you go up the range!? My 32's work well but would choose my old SID's or Lyriks any day over the Fox's. I know that nobody sticks to service intervals but the BOS service interval is every two years.. I have been given details of a company that will service them for a very reasonable amount of money.. Also, I seem to remember being told or reading that the seals on the BOS are Fox items anyway!? As for travel..... 160-170mm because A) I can. B) i love long travel forks and C) hopefully, there will be no need for me to buy a DH bike. You can't really compare fox 32s to lyriks? The lyriks have 35mm stanchions iirc?? just think you've got more money than sense, you'll not be able to tell the difference spend the money on some enve wheels.....

I've yet to see a Capra out on the trails ...mind you I do live in a remote area ! Shame really as I would love to try one and see what all the fuss is about ..especially if it was Bos equipped

Yep, not even seen one at Cannock yet - but I don't look all that closely I suppose.
Glad you've gone with BOS iRide - looking forward to seeing them and hear what your thoughts are over Fox, RS.

I've not seen one either, I know last year the Capra had snapping drop-out and chainstay issues, they put a mod in to stop this...
