Just took one of my XT levers off and seen that it's got clear mineral oil in instead of the well known red/pink oil .
CRC sell shimano oil in its red format ..can this be mixed with the clear or do I need to bleed completely 1 color ?

I don't really know the answer but, I assume mineral oil is mineral oil.. I wouldn't have thought it really matters if it's mixed!
Like I said though... I am just guessing!

My XT brake came with clear oil.I've bled them with red oil so they now have a mix of both and it hasn't had any effect on performance.  |

There is no difference, the coloring is just a dye so as manufacturers can tell what you have been up to and void warranties if you've used the wrong manufacturers oil, the only way it would be different is if they had different viscosity ratings.

Don't get caught on a roadside checkpoint by customs and excise with red ...huge fine will follow ...

I did`t fancy spending silly money on shimano mineral oil so after reading several recommendations for an alternative I settled on citroen suspension fluid from the local motorist shop,i think it cost me about 4 quid for a litre bottle.and it`s green  |
