A group of us are heading over to Stainburn on Sunday. None of us have been over that way before and we were wondering if there was anyone on here who would be willing to show us around. We are looking at setting off around 9 am Sunday morning. The more the merrier. All experienced riders some better than others. That's us not you guys. Thanks

Just a note for future ref Al unless you live local Stainburn is very short, packed with features but I wouldn't drive big mileage to go.

Blue is closed at Whinlatter just in case you didn't know, do red North, then do South, but at summit got right and do sneaky Grisedale pike loop, the do South properly! Will work out similar distance to doing all three trails.

Cheers Rachel. Will tell the guys. We were there last week end as well. (1st time there for me). Never had pain in my legs like that after a ride. Couldn't walk properly for 2 days. Hopefully won't be as bad this time.

Al just looked at that on View Ranger ..O.S.landranger map ..I think " sneaky " means ..footpath !

Yeah it's a footpath, hike a bike. Erm this is the strava www.strava.com/activities/224160361You can pedal a little bit along the ridge, then it is hike a bike for about 20 mins, but gets you up about 800ft. Once on summit don't go down middle descent ridge, carry on around the longest ridge that point towards red north, brings you down to start of south

Although I don't fancy doing that long climb twice.
