Guys, Managed to snag myself a nice new shiny carbon seat post for my Carrera. Do I need to put any carbon assembly past on the post when I use it or will it be OK straight into the ali frame? I've got a QR seat clamp so can back off the tension so it doesn't crush it.
Thanks

Yes... It's not just anti-seize compound, the paste contains tiny beads which helps control seat clamp pressure, so you don't over tighten the clamp..

Ahhh, interesting. I didn't know about the beads etc as I've never needed to use it. You Sir, are the font of all knowledge.

They're barely recognisable as beads... But they're there.. And serve purpose...

For the extra few quid it might save some hassle.

Presumably it will also work better than grease on alloy to alloy allowing grip with less tightening of seat clamps. I'm thinking about the reverb on my Orange-5.

I think it's more so designed for carbon posts, into carbon frames... However it won't work any less than regular grease, and might save you having to tighten the clamp up as much...

I use grip paste for my reverb and it works very well. No idea about carbon though

I don't rate them much myself but I thought if anyone needed the stuff and didn't have a Leisure Lakes nearby it might be of use.
