Done it twice ! Stayed in Glossop on both occaisions ..once just with Ian Bell ..and my dad as support driver in my Passat Sport ..so we didn't have to carry too much ...underestimated how long it would take and finished the ride in darkness with no lights and then had to travel back home to the North East ..arriving back at 2.00 am Went back the next year ..seven of us ..best group ride ever ...the craic was fantastic
Go do it ..it's amazing !

one for a drier longer day that one, tho there is a fair amount of trans pennine trail and tarmac around glossop

I would say that the Trans Pennine Trail accounted for about 25% of the ride ...motorway in mtb terms !

I would say that the Trans Pennine Trail accounted for about 25% of the ride ...motorway in mtb terms ! aye! but it may be better starting at ladybower or edale so it finishes with a good descent rather than finishing with a lot of 'motorway'. that's assuming its done anti clockwise.

I'll bring the fat bike.. Had my Fatso in the peaks last sunday and it performed brilliantly, did potato alley, lockerbrook, hagg farm, and hope brink, all in the mud and ice, loved it! Incidentally there has always been one climb there that ive never rode up and fatso blitzed it without a foot down

And a kilo lighter than my Alpine

I had a quick go on one in a car park once, it seemed a bit hard work on the steering. if money was no object i'd have one in a flash.

If you want to go fast then they're hard work. If you want to have fun, go anywhere and generally piss about you can't beat them. They're not hard work to climb as long as your happy to pootle rather than get pb's on stava.

I'm not a super climber, and climbing on the fatty seems no more difficult, as to steering, there's a Nack too it.... You have to lean and use your hips more... Feels really nice when your used to it.... Kinda like an old pan head Harley

The nack to riding a fatso is all in the tyre pressures, i did a 24 mile xc loop on mine yesterday and because it was all bridleways and tow paths i ran the tyres hard at 10psi, the bike will happily pootle around at 15mph, get it off road properly and into the hills drop the tyres to around 6-8psi and it goes a little draggier but the grip is outstanding, and it will climb walls its that good, I'll be honest though it doesn't descend as good as my stumpy full suss does, but then again it's not meant for that.

I can't drop below 15, I'm over 100kgs... I haven't took it off ride as yet... As I'm upgrading it, and making it tubeless... It's a light fatty should get it down to under 14kgs...
