Second hand is a much better way to go I would say... So much more bang for buck. I got my Rocky Mountain for well under a grand and it was specced really good, full custom build with nearly new parts etc. check it out in readers ride. Just keep your eye on Pinkbike and message a few people  |

Forgot to say on top of that, if you manage to get second hand under budget it will leave some in the wallet for any changes you want to make/add to the bike...
