Have decided I want a HT back, missed it this summer for fun blasts around Cannock. Rather than buy a new bike I am going to use the Merida Matts 300D trail frame that is currently my SS bike. I'm looking at getting the X Fusion velvet, seem to get favourable reviews but would rather listen to anyone off here, tbh - 32mm body in 140mm flavour, don't think this will be a problem as the Matts came with 120mm Suntours - another 20mm shouldn't be a problem, should it? Current A to C height is 495mm - obvs with 140's that's 515mm.
Anyhoo - would be interested to hear of anyone who has had/have the X Fusion forks.
Ta muchly.

I read a review somewhere where someone compared it to a rockshox fork. I'll try and dig it out for you.

Cheers mate - if they can make a fork that gets near the excellent Pike then they'll do for me - I've been hearing good stuff on tinterweb about X fusion so it's time to give em a try I think - price is brilliant too. I need to make a grand stretch enough to get the Ti LEV and kit out the Merida with forks, shifter etc etc. Might sell the LEV I had off Rose or just bung it on the HT!

Well the sweep came in at £300 less than a pike so looks like a good choice if you were to go that way. The review is on a 27.5 though so more investigating req'd. I wouldn't mind bunging something like that on the inbred.

I'll see the LBS who is sorting me and see what options I have - this is gonna be my feck about HT so I think 140mm should be plenty. I'll go 1x10 with a pussy and bung an SLX shifter on it, already got Deore brakes on. Not going to be anything flashy, just something capable. Always felt a bit sorry for that frame as it deserved better than the crappy kit it came with - so this is a bit of an ambition fulfilled. Looking forward to converting it. Just got to wait for Nestle and the C2W now

Hi, I'm a newbie on here. I have X-Fusion Slants on my bike. Better than RS. Better than Fox. Cheaper than either. Nuff said.

Howdy Ness! top man - so do the slants come in 26" flavour and 140mm travel? that's what I'm looking at - I believe the slants are 34's rather than the 32 velvets? that right?

Some versions of X-fusion Slants ( and may be other models) have internal travel adjustment from 100mm-160mm at 10mm intervals and you can convert them to suit 650B:)

Areet Zulu. What he said ^ Adjustable from 100 to 160. Although for some reason I thought mine were 170. 34mm stanchions and 26 wheels. Mine are the early ones so only took a 203mm rotor. I think they've changed that to 180 now. All these numbers are making me feel dizzy.

I owned Slant and rated it highly. I've run several forks over the years and its up there. I got travel adjust and did use it but it developed a fault so if buying again I'd keep it simple and get non travel adjust version.

Cheers mate and yes, I aim to keep it simple. Got the travel adjust Pikes and though I do use it on climbs, it's just summat else to go wrong really.
