Back on topic so what are we doing and no don't fancy the chase looks like this ride is breaking up . still wouldn't mind doing it as its a bit different for me, but if its unridable due to bog then its not fun. on the other hand , one that makes a good winter ride on the edge of the peak district is a stanage/totley moor ride. stanage edge is the highest point of this ride ,with the rest being lower level and possibly less icy depending on what weather we get in the meantime. about 1/3 of this route is tarmac so don't expect full on bermy type riding, but it does have some nice singletrack over totley moor with a techy descent of stanage edge which is always a challenge to make it down to the car park in one without a dab. meeting point would be in the south-west of sheffield

It's not wrote off as yet, depends on the conditions, if we don't get much more rain/mud it will be a goer!..

The conditions on the Chase today were loads better than on Saturday or yesterday as we have had good frosts since then, dried up a treat. The going on the Donkey was superb today, really grippy and good. Hopefully that will be the same for you lads and lasses? Having said that it is right now banging down with snow in sunny Roojelly. Anyone else fancy the Blues?

Cannock is pretty rideable all year round though.... Especially on the donkey..When you're on the more natural trails... That's when things can get sloppy!..

Anyone else fancy the Blues? There was nothing wrong with it Saturday apart from the normal puddles you get on upper n lower cliffs !!! Im not riding the donkey again this weekend !! If The ride is called off I'll do a local loop from mine..

The Donkey has never been worth the 100 mile round trip for me.. I don't mind doing a bit of off piste every now and again.. You gotta try out new trails!, otherwise it gets boring.. I intend on doing the Black rocks ride if the conditions clear up!...

Yes, the only reason I'm doing the Donkey is the fact Cannock off piste is just a bog also. I barely touch the dog or monkey in the summer months. Good luck the weekend wherever you end up.

I've got the small human early in the afternoon so I may end up just driving to the rocks or ambergate and having a mess around for a bit. Depends how snowy it is up that way, supposed to be quite bad so may be an excuse to take the fatty out!!

Unlucky chaps - tbh this time of year anything natural trail wise is going to be hit and miss. We need some real proper frosts to dry the gloop up.
