I had a couple of spare hours today so I thought I'd use them wisely and head off down to Glentress for my first snow ride this year. Weather wise it was perfect, the sun was shining and there was very little wind, I was even surprised on how much grip there was on the compacted snow, got a bit hairy when I hit the loose stuff though Here goes, sorry about all the pictures, I was on and off the bike every 2 minutes taking them lol. In the carpark getting ready to go. Halfway up the first climb before the first fire road Trail closures The reason for the trail closures The sun peaking through the trees on the diversion fire road climb Buzzards Nest carpark which was cloased to traffic due to the deforestation The fire road leaving Buzzards Nest on the way up to do Berm Baby Berm Berm Baby Berm The Motorway, blue return First bench stop after Penels Venal The view from Banana Bench, final climb to Spook Wood Top of the final climb at the fire road bench A wee roam in the snow The view from the top of Spooky Wood A quick check of the grip before I blast off down the trail The only other people I met the entire day, also checking the grip on the landing spots at the start of Spooky Wood Thats it, hope you all enjoyed my ride and sorry for the dike against fence/post pictures, I'll try harder for next time! PS.... 5/10's are useless in the snow

Yeah mate, you should, today the views were nothing short of stunning and even with the much slower pace I was still smiling all the way, in fact I would say that this could go down as a candidate for ride of the year for me!

Brilliant scenery - and don't apologise, I've always enjoyed seeing a dike up against a fence

I'm liking all the snow photo's atm it looks real pretty especially when you get bright afternoon sunshine, my favourite time/place of year though is spring in the Tweed Valley, if you hit the place at the right time you get the mist in the valley for miles and when your up in the hills looking down on it it's really something else :-)

Stunning mate that looked bloody cold but I bet you had great fun and a few arse clenching moments as well It was -2.5 when I set off and -4.5 when I returned to the car but tbh, I never really felt it, I wrapped up well, it still feels strange going out in shorts in the snow though lol If any of you lot want to actually pop your GT cherries then give chickenchopper or myself a shout, i'm sure we'd be only to happy to show you around

This may seem a silly question but, is Glentress a trail centre?
What I mean is, like Llandegla and CyB are trail centres..
