Aah, you should have just said - I understand now. Q factor is a dimensionless parameter that describes how under-damped an oscillator or resonator is, or equivalently, characterizes a resonator's bandwidth relative to its center frequency.

It's the horizontal distance between the northern most and southern most tips.. Depending on orientation, it could also be the lateral measurement of the eastern and western most tips.
