so with the conditions messing up some of our plans for where to ride this weekend (thought I was going to get the chance to meet some of you for the first time) I decided to make it a sunday ride to give a bit more chance for a bit of a thaw. I did the stanage ride I mentioned but from home. most of it was snow and ice free, even the steppy descent from stanage edge. with slush and glass-like ice in a few places. this is near the bottom of stanage edge

Yes was a shame the ride didn't go ahead That still looks slippy mate there was still snow and ice either side of the trail, but surprisingly ridable all the way down. just some bogginess to stop me for not choosing a good line

Nice one Glynn The way that falls away at the bottom of the pic ...it looks like you would need to get your line choice right ... How much of a drop is there ..it looks steep ...is it a drop off or do you roll that?

its all rollable top to bottom and the top section drops about 100 vertical metres in about 500 metres.its not the steepness that can catch you out its the bolder size wheel trapping rocks.you have to keep your momentum and a good line, sometimes on narrow stepping stones.it always gives you a smile on your face even if you fail miserbly
