Hello guys, I currently have a Camelbak rogue and it has suited me fine over the summer for minimal kit But as winter approaches us id like to get a bigger rucksack or for days when im on a longer ride Im watching a few camelbak mules on ebay. Having never seen one in the flesh will these fit all the extra gear needed for longer rides? Without it being a huge annoying bag on my bike making it awkward to ride As id struggle fitting a waterproof jacket and warm stuff into my Rogue as its only got 2 small compartments as you all probably know. Thanks Phil

I have the Rogue and looked at the Mule but decided on the Osprey Raptor 10L in the end, excellent bag - not saying it's better than the Mule but worth a look.

I have a Mule NV (same as a Mule but with things on that cool your back) I find it plenty big enough for what I carry.

I think the Mule will be big enough, although I prefer Osprey's over Camelbak's!

I've got the mule and can get everything I want in it. In mine I can get, waterproof jacket, 3 litres of water, 2 tubes, shock and normal pump, as well as all the other bits and bats that you need to carry, spares, glasses etc etc. oh and plenty of food too. ive had it for a year or so now and find its a great piece of kit.

My mule is like a Fookin tardis. Seriously loads of room for big day out kit, I even use it for commuting. Carrying a change of clothes and enough food for a small country

[br I use the same ...but an older model and it has given me excellent service for nearly 10 years ...some of the zips are starting to go ...and I may have to replace it sooner rather than later but would have no hesitation in going for the same... ( although I do hear good reports about the Osprey Range) ?

i find it big enough , mine is the 2011 version Mule NV, been using the same antidote res with a little hole for about 12 months tapped up but was starting to taste funny due to using those high5 extreme tablets so replaced it yesterday and all good for £20 from Cotswold Outdoor in carlisle. They price matched a web site and i had discount card . Mine carries my high pressure pump , spare tube, took kit, puncture kit, a water proof, shock pump , home made flap jacks and 2L of fluids in the 3l antidote . and still only used 50% of capacity .

I have the older type of mule that I believe is a bit smaller than the new ones and it will fit everything I want in it.
Done the C2C this year and apart from my "going out on the night gear" I carried everything on me and was fine.

Yeah got a Hawg for all dayers and a Lobo for half dayers. When one of em does wear out though I'll have a look at the Osprey range.
