Errr....correct me if I am wrong here ( and I most probably am ! ) ...Fins = Fast ! Isn't the whole point of a brake pad to slow you down ? From reading the blurb the only benefit they have is that they dissipate the heat generated ...quicker . Granted they look funky ..but you won't catch me riding bareback style with my nose an inch away from your rotors so that I can see them ...

Cheers for the link Tim, I'm needing new pads for my XT brakes and I'm tempted to give these a try Edit..... hmmmm they don't mention M785 XT brakes as being compatible??? Another Edit..... they are listed separately lol

They're more AM/DH orientated... Did spate heat a lot better on the braking decents... Benefits on XC bikes... Non imo but they look nice

I very much doubt the fins actually do anything, especially when they're not properly part of the pads themselves, pure snake oil, but they do look damn cool, which is reason enough to consider them. Just wondering if there are any unpleasant side effects, ie squeal/spongy feel/irregular wear as a result of sticking that alu bit in behind the pad?

They do, but you need to be doing some serious braking... Such as Alps DH
