It's back!!! Only in 'This is Spinal Tap' form and it's now the Kielder 101. September 5th is the date. www.seismic-events.co.uk/k101.htmlI've got unfinished business with this bloody thing. By far the hardest thing I've ever done on a bike but all the training means lots of riding.

The word on the singletrack is more details are being released tomorrow... All I know is what's on the site and the Kielder Forest facebook page. Although they have conflicting dates apparently it's the 5th. Hmm, the organisers twatter feed says 101km course this year. Shame. Not tuff enuff. I'm oot.

I have just been in touch with the organisers who have confirmed that for this year the course will be 101 km ..while they are finding there feet However what should be taken into consideration is the fact that the majority of the course will be on singletrack ..whereas the Montane sponsored event incorporated a lot of fire road within its 100 mile length At 101 km or if you prefer ...63miles on mainly singletrack it is still very much a " hard man / woman " event and they are asking for riders to support them this year ...before re- introducing the longer 101 mile or 162 km event next year Just to get the ball rolling I have entered the event myself ....as a Marshall ! Well you didn't think I was that crazy ..... So who is going then !

Entries now open here.£40 until the end of March, £45 after. Still undecided about entering this. Neil - any insider knowledge about this line from their site: The event uses many previously unused tracks, known only to a few locals, as well as incorporating some unusual twists and turns on the more regular trails. which of the natural stuff are they going to use?

Well Andy the truth is that I have not spoken to them about the actual route ..but I am going to be helping . I don't imagine that there will be too much that we haven't ridden before ..probably over towards the castle / East Kielder there is some good off piste stuff ..Greys Pike / Wainhope Bothy ..then on the Lonesome Pine side there will be Ants path , the Car Wash etc ...but with Simon Banks of the F.C planning the course there are bound to be some surprises ...I know he cleared some cheeky stuff for a running event last year which could see the light of day ! I'll maybe tip you a nod once I know something ..for a price ! Enjoy the sledging with the bairn tomorrow ...

Good luck with that, yer loony! Do you stick needles under your finger nails for a bit of light entertainment too? Just don't let Jay see this he will want us to enter it lol I' m assuming those comments were directed at Andy ..and that you don't think that I'm loony enough to have entered ! I contacted them to offer my services as a Marshall ..as I have done a lot of this over the years when The Bike Place ran their Marathon Series..but actually taking part ..err no ! Andy on the other hand has unfinished business from the Montane sponsored Kielder 100 ..this was 100 miles with timed cut off points ..so if you arrived at a checkpoint even 1second late ..tough ..you were out ! The last time Andy did this I think he completed about 60 miles in absolutely horrendous conditions ..not sure if he missed a checkpoint or if it was a mechanical .....but most folk who did finish did so without any brakes even having carried spares pads I have a fair idea how much training he put in ..and why he is saying it is unfinished business .. The event regularly attracted close to a 1000 riders .. and the new organisers have decided to go easy on everyone this year ..before hitting everyone with a 101 miles next year ..so what are you waiting for ? Don't piddle around with those mamby pamby marathon events Gaz ....do a man -sized one ! Lol

By 30 secs be like get to fk I would still carry on .. Lol good luck to Andy
