My Meta rims are Schrader, not Presta. I purchased the Decathlon valves as they are wider at the sealing end than the stans. When I offered them up, I could see the air gap around the hole, but thought in for a penny in for a pound and got some sealant, wacked it on the valve, and pushed it in the hole. I put the stans in the tyre and it's inflated to 40 psi after a bit of shaking and wiggling. It's still up now, but I don't trust it. I want some Schrader tubeless valves but no one seems to have them in stock.... I had thought of getting the little rubber grommets that take the rim down from 8mm to 6mm but again my LBS doesn't have any. Has anyone Ghetto'd 650b using a 24" tube? I've seen that people leave the tube flapping around and cut it after mounting the tyre. Any reason I can't cut it nice and neat before I mount the tyre. I don't like the idea of seeing bits of inner tube poking out of my tyres and the tyres are tubeless ready anyway. Worse comes to the worst, I'll put the tube back in I guess

That was going to be my next move if I couldn't get the valves Ergaz. I like doing things properly though. I know it would work, but I'm a bit OCD and it would bug me. I've plenty of excuses of why I won't attempt a jump/drop off/gap etc, I don't need to add "I've not got proper tubeless valves and my tyres might deflate" to my long list!
