Skellington is one of my faves - along with amblamence or umblamence, as it winds the kids up when I say that

Should be a good group by my reckoning we've got: have I missed anyone? Jay Gaz Mr Cogger Me Adam Steormy Browny Johnny Possibly Big lee Duncan Mike3342 Looking like a fair few will be there so wots the plan do a full loop grab some snap , then climb back up do a bit of off pista or something like Rach suggested ? rachelizzabeth Avatar Feb 23, 2015 20:11:00 GMT rachelizzabeth said: If you do find the trails don't challenge you enough and you want to do something extra. Head to the top of south loop and just before you turn onto the rock on the top look out for muddy footprints on your right ducking under tree branches. Follow them, pushing your bike for a minute, climb over a fence and then you're on Grizedale Pike. Pedal as far as you can then, bit of hike a bike, then on top follow scree ridge line right around edge and back down into Whinlatter! Don't take first ridge line descent that's boring!

I'm happy to fit in with the majority.. As long as we have a good ride and put some smiles on our faces, I'm happy. If we see Slowcogger fall off, all the better

Hahah it's pretty much the easiest hike a bike in the lakes and as long as you descend down one of the ridges pointing back to Whinlatter you will be fine! I.e don't follow the only one that is in the opposite direction and leads off into a mountain range, although that does lead to epic mountain biking (gnarly footpaths)! GP is only a 5 mile loop from Whinlatter car park. Just don't tell anybody that Rach from Cyclewise recommended the route pleeeeaaaseee !!!

I'm up for a bit of off piste but don't rely on me to guide . I get lost on marked trails so off piste I've no chance . I suggest doing the North and South loops , brew and grub in the cafe . Back to the top of the South to do the off Piste and when we're at the bottom decide whether to call it a day or to do another loop . What do you think?

Obviously if you are struggling to stand up because of the wind on top of south don't go up on to Grizedale haha as the last hike a bike but is a bit like kite-a-bike if wind is up.
The last but of the descent where you drop off the mountain into the wood (if you follow the longest ridge line) is where one of last years gravity enduros started. If you aren't going warp speed you'll notice bus stop style tracks weaving on and off right hand side of the track. Good loamy carnage. You'll have a blast! And it spits you out on fire road that is on start of south loop!

I hope somebody is taking notes.. Pity Zulu is not coming. He could print Off the instructions and get them laminated. We'd be fine then
