Rite chaps getting a bit of stick for my road riding at mo .. Pone reason why I'm doing it is I would like to get a bit fitter , plus with snowdon weekend coming up and who latter as well  need to drop a few pounds stones rocks boulders off my lardy arse ..  So looking at entering a few of these events this years .. I must be nuts .. www.mtb-marathon.co.uk/events.htmlps does that mean I can still wear my sexy Lycra on a Mtb   |

Road riding is cheating. I'm going up Snowdon with MTB training only. Ditch the roadie and do it properly |

great events these gaz.iv entered a few of these in recent years. well organised ,good buzz,overnight camping for free even if your not riding.entertainment ,pasta meal night before included in price. well recommended which one you doing? |

Hi Glynn that's great news hoping to do them all mate just booked in for the first one , was going to drive down Sunday morning as don't have any camping gear yet .. Was trying to find a gps route map to see wot sort of climbing would be involved builth wells , won't bother with the nite ride before as would be buggered for the 75km next day |

i'd recommend the church stretton one, tho when I did it, it started just down the road at marshbrook but would guess it'd be a similar route. iv done one from grassington, and last year the ruthin one.they didn't contain much in the way of technicality, prob for health and safety reasons but the marshbrook one had plenty of interesting sections

But no one wanted to to it with me .. This year , I'll do them all on my own if I have to .. Trying to drop weight n get fitter so these will give me a reason to push my self that little bit more .. Just oust need to start saving for a lighter bike if poss .. 29er ht carbon ... Bloody skint at mow .. Lol |

Only diffrent between that an a cx bike is the wheels put off road tyres n wheels on it and I can go off road lol The best thing about the road bike is I can do a 40 mile loop and don't have to spend the next hour cleaning it after doing a 12 hr shift at work .. That why I do it plus nice to ride on ya own In ya own little world apart from the crazy car drivers trying to kill ya lol |
