Defiantly a case of that today. Took the Kraken out wit ha friend who said they wanted to do a long tow path ride. Yeah forgot for about 5 miles its tarmac then the other 15 miles was a mix of deep gravel leaf mush, cobbles and some weird grooved path. Slicks and SPDs were not the best setup especially when you have to duck under bridges and not fall into the canal. Plenty of heart in the mouth moments tramlining while trying to unclip and some horrible bails trying to avoid my mates random stops at the brows of hills . Only plus side, they got four punctures. I didnt get one!

The best thing about canal rides is that there's a pub every few yards. I ride 3 miles down the canal to get to Cannock Chase and pass about 435 pubs!
