Don't do it. The chains and sprockets will end up razor thin, cost a fortune and last hours then..... As soon as we all go 12 they'll go to 13.

To be fair we will all use whatever comes on full builds eventually, you will all soon be 1x11 as it trickles down People moaned about 9-10 speed, going from 3 at the front to 1 and most recently 11 speed All I can say is 1x11 is friggin ace and if the bike I buy in 2019 has 12speed electronic shifting I bet it will also be ace

Bike radar are just speculating, it may never happen, one thing I can see though. If Shimano does bring out a 12 speed with an 11/45 it still won't have the range of a SRAM 10/42 the shimano cassette has a range of 318% where as the SRAM cassette has a range of 320% so if you hae a SRAM system then there would be no need to change. Fair enough, it close enough to consider ether if you are coming from a lesser drive train.

1x11 has everything covered looking at reviews. I've never needed anything more on my 1x10 11-36 with a 34t chainring
I think they should start looking at making parts more reliable. Just recently on here, people have been having problems with various different parts. No idea how my mech snapped either, considering I was on a gravel path and it was set up perfectly!

Well I done it a few weeks back when I serviced the bike. Set the high/ low limit screws and b screw again, the cable tension was fine and it was shifting spot on. Hadn't put a foot wrong. Mech hanger was straight and the mech wasn't bent either. So Im pretty sure it was set up right, considering it's not exactly a hard task either! it's only had about 500 miles or so on it... I'd rather it had snapped due to a gnarly crash or something, not just pedalling up a a fucking hill! Even worse was the amount of walkers that walked past after with their smug faces on

Well, I s'pose end of the day we haven't GOT to buy the latest 'thang'. I don't, I wait til they trickle down to the mainstream, by which point they are pretty much proved and tested. TBF, it's a business and the big boys are always looking for the next angle - anyone for a flat/curved/smart/LCD/virtual/surround/home/projector/LED/backlit tv?

Shimanos Di2 XTR seems pretty cool after the latest article on pinkbike. www.pinkbike.com/news/shimanos-official-di2-xtr-launch.html2x system but can be used with one shifter to go up and down, ignoring duplicated gears turns it into a 13 speed system with a massive spread of gears, also the pivot used in the test is awesome with everything internal

As you said ..sounds pretty cool... Didn't see anything in there pointing towards a price ..but only " speed " read it .. I will probably be bike riding in heaven before I see it on anything that I own though ...
