Careful folks - I usually get permission from friends who own the land to ride on it thus avoiding any potential issues about foot paths and hassle from walkers As a group we are always very pleased to welcome any visitors to these 'something different rides' but had not thought would be opening up a whole lot of potential conflict by using endomondo - why spoil something I have have worked at trying to maintain We as a group have been given permission to ride on routes that most mtbers would love to get on to on the explicit understanding that we do not publicise exactly where we have been Sad that it has come to this when all everybody who wants to ride these routes has to do is just to come along with us but there are always folk out there who want to buck the system and stuff the consequences- just think why does Hodgie never give exact descriptions of where we have been on the ride write ups - unfortunately it is this kind of arrogance that leads to conflict and simply banning bikes from where we should not be. Dont get me wrong as we have all ridden on footpaths but it is just this publicising that 'I know where you have been and I am going there and stuff any potential conflicts' that I find upsetting Easy option is to not work with landowners to get access Remember these rides are not elitist in any way but are open to all who wish to join us Might be a while before any more are posted - sad

The naughty bit from Harehope to Blawearie is a bit boggy on the bridleway section before it turns into a footpath ..but it soon improves as you climb from the valley floor .. It's a bit remote in places so mind how you go ..

Hardly fair when I ask the people who own the farm yard if we can use it to park to find it offered up for all to park - will make grovelling apologies as the last thing owner wants is publicised car park on his land Think before write!

Yes ..agreed I should not have mentioned this . However Andy is well known to us and has done a lot of work for KTR prior to young family coming along and being able to join group rides.( think taking the lead in the reconstruction of the top section of Lonesome Pine down to Bloody Bush Toll ) ..and I don't think he is going to publicise this route.. I think with the Endomondo thing ..although I am not entirely sure ...you have to be " following " someone with their permission to get access to their information . Apologies though ..I didn't want to upset or offend .

This is def where email contact list comes in as could all have been very easily sorted without open forum - so a line has now been drawn through the bottomless hag of carnathie hill to finish this Sorry Andy you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time - you will have ample opportunity to get your revenge when next out with us as you will be able to be not just 200metres ahead of me but disappearing into the next valley over the horizon! Matter finished but learn from this if we are doing naughty things prob best to use email to avoid conflict!

To further draw a line under this I have deleted my two " offending " posts. I will however still post details of rides & write-ups on the forum ..but won't post anything sensitive ..otherwise how would anyone not usually connected to our little band of merry men and women ever get to join us...
Colin if you could also delete the post where you have quoted me above ...that will remove all trace of my naughtiness ..for those who have yet to read this thread .... Ta
