So, this is one for Andy Watson tbh but in case he aint on - getting the Bird Zero as you know and the design of the bike (a really low slung top tube) means the med or large (17" and 19") is a possibility for me. Swinley is just too far so I thought by looking at the Zero's geom I could decide by comparing it with the Chiefs.
How do you measure it? is it middle of the stem to middle of seat post? inside of stem to inside of seat post? anyone know?
Cheers

Centre line of stem (or head tube which is same) to centre line of seat post. Horizontally at top of head tube.
I'd have guessed you'd be a medium.
Are you sure you aren't getting a discount?

Ha ha no mate it's a genuine question, I remember seeing you measure mine and Munkys Santa Cruz but couldn't remember how you did it. Thanks for that I'll check that out tomorrow. Like you I'm sure I'm a medium but like you I want to be sure. Apparently with these frames cos of the low top tube even a short arse like me could fit a large, just depends how stretched out you like to be.

I've just looked and the Bird Zero is listed as ETT 595mm in the 17" size so I reckon that will suit you if you are happy on the Rose 2014 GC which IIRC is about that if not the same. It's certainly less than 600mm as that's one of the concerns I had when I was looking seriously at them.
Now you'll understand why I was chasing everyone around with a tape measure when I was trying to choose a bike.

Rose is 10mm shorter, as it happens I prefer my HT's to be slightly more stretched so sounds perfect. Cheers Andy but no, I will never understand you.
