Noticed last night while out on the bike that my Pro peddle didn't seem to be doing much (Fox RP2) in fact it feels the same on both Open and PP settings... quite stiff as in when you push down on both settings you get slight bob, not much bob but very slight maybe its just even the sag level. Also there doesn't seem to be much difference with the rebound either, when on the fast setting it just seems the same on the slow when pushed down.
It seemed to feel ok when riding but just when testing by pushing weight onto the bike it just all seems the same.
Anyway, going by Mojo's prices I'm looking at round the £115 mark for a service... for this price I could nearly buy a new RockShox RL or FOx RP23 from bikediscount... What would you do? Also what do I need to measure to find fitments for the shock and is there anything else I would need to buy to fit it?

Save up some money and buy a new shock, CC Inline maybe? Would seem pointless spending money to either get it serviced when you could buy the same shock, but new. Personally I'd vote save the money and get something uprated.

Yea my thoughts so far are that, going from an RP2 to a RP23 would be a bit of an upgrade. Much more money is out of the question as I've just blown a load on a reverb, stand, clothes etc.

Used is a good call but hard to find one that you deff know has had a good service history. Will check PB out see what they got!

Pro pedal switch never made any noticeable differences on any of my bikes, has it ever worked? If not then its probably down to the leverage ratios of your bike and replacing it with another probs wont make much difference, at least in terms of the switch doing anything that is...
You can do the air can yourself for about a 10er and half an hrs work.

Absolutely ditto what he said, the difference between the shock that comes on the bike that's set up for Mr Ordinary 12 stone man and what the likes of TF Tuned can do is night and day, it will transform your bike to one that you'll love even more

Well to get an rp23 and tune/service is way out of my budget. It would be sending my rp2 away to get done.
So does a service include sorting the rebound/pp? I managed a quick test and pp does seem to do a bit... Maybe I've just forgotten how it felt when I was out proper last. The Rebound doesn't seem as fast for sure!

Do you know when it was last serviced ? yes Mata when you get it back everything will work as it should, i've had mine done at tf tuned,( an rp2) but what about these guys www.flotecsuspension.co.ukI go to them cos they're 2 miles from where i work and have a quick turnaround,i get mine back the next day cos i can collect it, they take a real pride in their work and are shit hot riders too, also big mates with Danny MacAskill ( if that makes any difference haha ) guys name is Taj, give him a call, they do as good a job as tf tuned

Thanks for the heads up Chopper, will look them up! I honestly don't know when it was done, if ever! Bought the bike last October time second hand, looks like the shock is the original (2009ish) so could probably do with one either way! I have only done around 200ish miles on it if even that!

Something to bear in mind - it may need more than just a standard service. I sent mine to TF Tuned for a standard service as it was 2 years old. I'd had no problems with it and the only thing I was aware of was the CTD lever was slightly loose. Got it back today - additional work carried out (after speaking to me) New Float Shock Body, New Shaft, New Air Can and New Mounting Kit. Cost went from £95 to £174 I could build a shock with the bits they sent back !!!!

Wow not good mate, that's what I'm kinda thinking about... say if that happened to me for £175 could easily buy a new better shock than an RP2... Could get a Monarch rt3! I did a quick test around the office today as my ride was more a splash and dash so didn't stop to check proper. Did a few step drops and on open there is a slight difference compared to PP. Can't tell much difference with the rebound though, again it's so hard to tell on these short tests. Think I will just carry on with it as it seem to feel good where it's at and start saving a few bob now and then for an upgrade later on

Fox CTD and RP23 doesn't really locked it just goes stiff and has 3 settings in propedal, RP2 I once had does locked out but blows if it hits harder stuff and goes back to lock out again (I don't know if it means to do that as it's the only shock I've owned that never sent to TFtuned for service. will .. so what's left of the old shock

I changed my mind on this.. if shock is from 2009(ish) and say haven't serviced since then,... it might be worth a gamble getting/upgrading to RP23 from them german sites
