That's all well and good ..but unless you do due diligence prior to committing to such a project then don't be surprised if it goes tits up ! I think the first thing I would have nailed down before anything else is how much the industry would support such a venture ..instead of buying / leasing the land and then hoping it would happen .. Like I said ..I hope it comes off but the fact that there is only £ 380 .00 in the pot does not fill me with confidence or even tempt me into making a pledge ...

In all fairness, the fundraising only started today.
In the short time this thread has been active, the total has gone up to just shy of £700

To be honest.... I REALLY hope he succeeds but, like some, I have doubts.
His plans are ambitious but achievable. I guess it all depends on the help and support he gets from individuals and companies etc
Personally, I don't think he'll have any problem raising that initial sum. All it would take is a post on Pinkbike or somewhere and it's pretty much money in the pocket.

It just needs publicity and the money will be raised by morning.

I think he would be taken more seriously if he put a bit of thought into how he comes across on some of the videos he has been posting up. Wandering around with a camera, casually hacking branches with his axe. I fear that it's a good space to put something like that up, but that corners are going to be cut in the building in an attempt to rush it through and open. Another concern is the trail map makes every trail look pretty straight… but I guess, and hope, that close up this could be different. I hope it's successful, but it won't be somewhere I will ride every week simply because it has a lot to live up to to beat the epic, FREE, natural descents around here, which is why he needs to put a lot of care into what he builds. Fast motorway sections linking up big hucks will be great fun but will mean the trails on that hill will be over so quickly. Meaning more time spent on the uplift than on the bike

Surely he should concentrate on digging and maintaining 3/4 epic tracks, get some people down and get it popular, build a few more, then when it's regularly getting used start tyrying to raise money for uplift to a shitty little car park and porter cabin (like hamsterley) then look for lottery funding or something to take it to the next level
I would be willing to give more than £20 if there were already tracks to ride and you could see the potential

I do hope he makes a success of this, but as Rachel has already said it's going to pretty hard to compete with with the natural riding the lakes has to offer. One thing for me though is that he needs to change the name, it's cringe worthy!!

Pretty much what you all said, hope it works out but I shan't be holding my breath waiting for it to open. Even if it did, I probably wouldn't go anyway

And the real reason he hasn't gone to a bank to get a business loan is because he can't gurantee it making that back for him for him to meet repayments. I also think that his 'reward' for the £20 donation is poor. I'd have preferred to donate £20 now and have that guaranteed as a voucher for a days riding, even just push up day, because at the end of the day, there would be no park without those donations. He has offered 2500 £20 donations for that canvass... It's not exactly going to be easy to win that 1 VIP year pass! I know I sound really negative and that isn't like me, but I can't help it!!

I'm kind of with you there Rach...I wasn't exactly inspired by his video ..and thought the rewards were fairly poor .. I also got the " gut " instinct that he was a bit of a dodgy character...could well be doing the bloke a disservice ..but I usually follow my first impressions

I`ll never knock a guys ambitions and dreams but this just seems to be a case of trying to run before he can walk.good luck to him but I can`t see it coming off really but I`ll be the first eat humble pie if he manages to pull it off.
