Hi all,

A lot of us are heading up (or down) to the Forest of Dean this day, so there may not be many people about. But if you go up, park up in Dead Woman's Ditch and head across the road into the trees, there's some awesome tracks leading down into Holford from there.

I can't get to FOD this weekend which is a shame. I walked there this weekend and there were a few good downhill spots in the woods.

Have a look at Triscombe as well, not too far from Holford, and easy to cycle to from the Dead Woman's car park. Be warned though, the runs there can get pretty gnarly rather quick.

It was probably a good thing, I climbed lots off the bike, would have embarrassed myself with other enthusiasts

It was probably a good thing, I climbed lots off the bike, would have embarrassed myself with other enthusiasts Dont ever let that put you off....as far as Im concerned there is no rule anywhere that says you have to ride everything . Walking in my opinion is just part of the deal ...not everyone is at the same fitness level and never will be ...so as long as you are honest enough upfront then no one has cause for complaint . Its very doubtful where you live that we will ever ride together ....but just so that you know I often walk really steep sections but as long as I stay in touch with my buddys then this isnt a problem....we are all out there to enjoy the day !

After the first hour my legs died so I climbed mostly on foot. I need to look at climbing techniques .
I'll improve,I've not long purchased the bike!
