I've had a cold for as long as I could remember leading upto xmas but then thought I had got rid of it. the last few rides I've been on I've felt the need to spit out far too often, like once or twice in minute, no I haven't turned into johnny Evans it's just constantly building up until I can't hold it any longer and need to clear the decks. I've played football for many years and squash and never been a spitter. couple with that after every drink I am belching and some times gagging a bit like I'm going to chuck up, a couple of rides back it got so bad at what's usually my half way point distance wise I just felt like I couldn't continue on. I felt quite sickly after the ride and the feeling worst ended through the day until I chucked up like a good one. I thought I may have had a stomach bug picked up from the kids so left it a few days and tried again. I felt okay before a ride but after 7 or 8 miles I started burping and a feeling of reflux again. ive left it a week and went out a couple of nights ago with the main intention being to check if this had improved before I organise any longer rides. Keeping a good steady pace on the cx bike I did feel better but again after 15 miles again I started to feel a little sickly and belching after every small swig of water, this time I was okay after the ride. ive never had this issue before and I wondered if anybody has encountered this. ps couldn't mention the cx bike without the customary gunner shot, may bring back some memories as it is indeed the same bike as featured in many a bike leaning on fence shot on that former forum.

Don't really know ..but ..are you using a camelback or similar ? If so how long is it since you properly sterilised it ? Could have something to do with it ...
