So as the title may or may not suggest, I'm after a new helmet to protect my head.. hehe
I have a Troy Lee A1 at the moment, but as I found out last Saturday, it's way to warm for my head. What are people running and recommend?

Gutted mate - I was going to treat myself to a TLA1 this summer, not if it's a sweat box though love the look of em. Giro Hex is my lid atm and I must admit, it'll make a superb summer helm - the venting is exceptional. Shame it looks so boring really.

I was so impressed with my urge all mountain that I bought another in a different colour.i`ve only been wearing it for a couple of months so can`t comment on how it may perform on hot days though.

Aaah see I KNOW the Hex will be brill in the summer - cos every time I go out atm my feckin bonce gets froze with the air flow! I'm thinking if you ain't feeling the cold - it won't be that good in the summer!

yeay maybe,it really is well padded round the back of the head but whatever helmet I`ve worn in summer has ended up soaking wet.the urge has the `gangsta pad`that`s supposed to stop sweat running down into the eyes,so far it`s worked fine.

It's just so comfy the padding gets VERY warm on my head. I'm tempted by those POC helmets as well, they look rather tasty. Although saying that the Urge ones look awesome.

I've still got a POC marsbar, really nice lid but tbh that is a bit warm in summer too, especially compared to the Hex. Having said that the only reason I stopped wearing the POC was when I put a big dint in it after trying to eat a rock

Poc Trabec race for the last 12 months , use it all year round and perfectly happy with it , having ridden with someone who rode away from a 20+mph headfirst crash into a pile of logs that also included bending both the toptube and downtube on a scott full susser I'm sticking with it , outer skin of her trabec was slightly creased and foam inside had cracked slightly in deformation but she walked/pushed the rest of the the ride , bike was written off
