Yep, pretty much! When the sun comes out for a while a dries out the off-piste, we'll be ok.
What I tend to do is ride off-piste most of the year and when winter sets in, ride the marked trails.
At the moment, with most of the marked trails closed and the off-piste unrideable, all we've got is fireroads really!
Just waiting for a full face lid and I'll spend most of my time at Stile Cop I think.

So what does this mean for the Cannock/Stile Cop meet next month? Just smashing Stile Cop all day then?

So what does this mean for the Cannock/Stile Cop meet next month? Just smashing Stile Cop all day then? I'll leave that to everybody else. I'll happily take you around the off-piste stuff if it dries out a bit! The Monkey will probably be open by then minus Lower Cliff.

If it dries out, even just a little bit, that's fine.. At the moment though, pretty much all the off-piste tracks are beneath a foot of mud!
I went down one a few days ago and mud came above the front brake disc. Not enjoyable!

Oh man, the fuel bill going to other places as half cannock trails are shut is crippling!!!!! Hoptons quite nice and not to far but they dont have any toilets so you have to brave it in the woods, i swear i nearly stepped on a human turd last time i went. Theres always the danger of being caught out by some git with a go pro too. Other than its a great place to ride.

fuel prices are offset by the fact most places are at least a zillion times better than Cannock, hence it's worth it!!

Stile Cop is mint.. Just confusing (for me)
It's virtually deserted on weekdays too. Be prepared for the push-up though, it's a killer!
Do you know where you're parking?

So Monkey is shut and High Voltage, Zig Zak and Bomb Hole are closed on the Dog, is that everything? Will be at Cannock for first time in ages at the weekend, don't have time to go any further. Looks like I'm gonna be doing about 3 or 4 laps of whatever is left of the Dog then

The Dog, in my opinion, is pointless at the moment as a trail.

Where is Stile Cop, how do you get to it ? Hope this helps a bit. The larger of the black circles is actually a car park (as opposed to a lay-by) and the entrance to Stile Cop is just a minutes ride up the road! The smaller black circle is the entrance to Stile Cop and you can usually park there if the space isn't already taken (only space for two cars) The postcode for Stile Cop road is WS15-1ND. Stile Cop itself doesn't have a postcode so just drive up and down Stile Cop road until you find the car park! It's difficult to see Stile Cop itself from the road!

Not bothered about the trails just like the idea of pooing in the woods.

Yes, I will be going up there at some point as I remember Barffy saying how he enjoyed it. Give you a shout. Probably after I get the HT now though and give the terrain a chance to dry a bit.

Hopton castle craven arms shropshire sy7 0qf
that gets you to the castle (well ruin) you need to keep going through the village till you come to woods. We got lost the first time:-(. It is a good climb, everytime you think its finished you just seem to turn the corner and carry on going up. Worth it though!!!!!!
