If your cars got a tow bar look at the tow bar fitted ones I'm the same ..and the smell inside the car ..lol ..mine sounds like a radio signal the way it whines ..can't wait to get the roof bars & carrier off after a long journey ..thankfully they don't get used too often as all of our group are spread around the region and my own bike goes in the back of the car

Women are great at supplying you a guilt trip ...I ended up buying bedroom furniture ..the works ..which cost a lot more than the bike ...but then says she " yeah but you will be using it too!...

I just bought the freeride a few weeks ago and its great. However when I have my bike travel set to 160mm on the front the swing arm of the freeride doesn't reach the bike frame! Luckily for me I have U-turn forks and when set to 115mm it does reach and clamps fine., just a word of warning

Proride 591 will fit practically anything and are very secure.
Works well with the aero type roof bars.
Do you have cross roof bars for the focus? They can be expensive but I found a good deal on the ford direct part site, sti kyour reg in and they do some good package prices of the bars with the carrier, the 591 was 120 or 130 for 2.
