what surface were you riding on? I think the prob is more likely to be tyre pressure rather than shock pressure.

Have a look around Pinkbike. They've had some superb write ups on cornering lately!
You can't put washing out down to 1 thing easily.. I could be any of dozens of things. Speed, braking, tyre pressure, body position... to name a few.

pumped so their hard(ish)! i dont own a pressure guage pump so this might be the issue. Evans Cycles set the pressures when i bought the bike a few weeks ago, so i guess i need to get one. silly - motorbiking pressures make a huge difference, i never made the association until you have asked the question/!

As Jay said could be a number of things .. But if your tyres pumped right up, then you will lack a bit grip on the slippy stuff ..

Try running the front at a slightly lower PSI, it'll help the tyre form around the surface. I've ridden Leuigh Woods, bit too flat for me But the unmarked stuff just off the car park is good fun.

ill check the pressures with a guage tomorrow and will look at playing with them soft/harder front rear. . Yea leigh woods and Ashton are both very flat. I barely climbed 100m all day! My usual stomping ground is the Quantocks, its a little more hilly there. Smiths Coombe is quite fun

Use this: mtb.ubiqyou.com/ as a rough guide (can't remember who originally posted it, Zulu?). Have a look at the Chimney run when you're next there. That's some serious fun.

100psi? this is irrelevant .. figure should be sag% 25-30 from whatever your weight that time .. there is a tyre pressure guideline motozulu sometime ago.. some people are spot on from the results..maybe worth a look for you anyways, crashing has so many variables .. live and learn

My best advice for you is not to get bogged down in too many PSI figures. Go with what feels right and works for you.

The front gives weight categories and 83-90KG is 100psi, so ive used Treks figures but ill get my ruler out in the morning and give it a go. Yep crashing comes in all fashions, but share and share alike

Yes, don't get bogged down but you still need a good 'base' from which to start from.
25% sag with you fully loaded on the bike is a good start point as is the tyre pressure calculator.
Once you get the base sorted you can then go up or down a couple of PSI until you are feeling dialled in.
Whatever the feck dialled in means.
Fine tune the suspension when out by moving the rebound and compression dials a notch at a time too
