So I subscribed to a mountain bike magazine and they sent me a free camelbak charger. I've been put off buying one due to the price and using a much cheaper alternative, but i must say the design and usability of this carrier is ideal for mountain biking! well its been designed for mountain biking.
Price: The cost of the subscription is £28.99 for 6 issues and you get this very usable Camelbak, so even if you arent interested in the magazine, its worth getting it just for one of these! Usual price £60+!
Bladder: Holds 2L of water and is belt mounted for easier weight distribution with a tension strap to keep the load under control... not that 2L weighs much but it helps.
Comfort: Very comfortable and breathable, copes well with my hot back and is distributes weight fairly well between shoulders and belt straps. The chest strap makes a huge difference with undulation, particularly with small jumps (i cant do big ones) and cornering. Comes with lumbar compression.
Space: 500CU/8L - Well there is enough space to hold two pumps, a spare jacket, tools, inner tube, map, food, keys, phone, wallet (all with their own designed space) and the main compartment is separate from the water bladder itself. Keep your phone up the top and its not st risk from any leaks! Helmet can be clipped on to the outside via the helmet clips for easy carrying at stops/breaks or for those times you wish to walk around town with a helmet strapped to your back.
Overall: For a 50% price reduction, this is a well designed and well thought out mountain bike accessory. The usability of the compartments is excellent with specifically desinged compartments for your usual equipment. I would recommend getting one if you are looking for a water back pack for mountain bike trips.
apologies about the on the side photo, all my pictures seem to be on the wonk
