I'm hoping to stop off for a ride in the peaks this Tuesday afternoon., your photos and detailed adventures always look great.
If I only ever get one chance which route would you recommend (link to gps type route would be nice).
Can start from anywhere on snakes pass or wood head or surrounding areas. 3 hours or 4 at a push would be ideal, I go at a respectable pace I think.

I thought a lot about which route to do the first time I went there. Opted for the Ladybower Loop and thoroughly enjoyed it, so that's what I would suggest. ridewithgps.com/routes/4056758 I'm sure Glynn would know better though.

There's loads, I personally recommend the killer loop 43 miles... Covers both white and dark peaks mamtor edale etc... Think it's on bikely ... Got it saved at home... Some pushing involved though!

Difficult to choose one. I,ll have a look at what gpx,s i have. Yes burton it takes you to the back of the pub, thrn theres a sharp right turn which drops you at the pub door. BTW. Did anyone spot my photo in this months MBR? :-)

as I say its difficult to pick just one.it depends on your fitness, preference, ground conditions. but this is one I think is a good peaks ride. not to long, but definitely worth it.3 or 4 hours ride time.great views. the last descent down back to hope is cheeky but really good.every inch of this route is ridable. www.gpsies.com/upload.doif this link doesn't take you directly to the route, click on 'my tracks' top right for a list of my rides. the one you want is 'mam tor'.

What's the very north area of the Peak District like?. By that, I mean the A635 area. You don't tend to hear about much from round that area

You don't tend to hear about much from round that area thers not really a lot to go at, around meltham moor, holmefirth, theres a bit of a lack of bridleways. altho someone local to that area might know some secret stuff.
