Is it true that bomb hole is open again?  If so how is it, whats changed??? I wont get the chance to ride it for a couple of weeks  |

Yes, it's open!
I've not ridden it myself but apparently the differences are:- New smoother surface, a few small steps/drops, flat rock gardens.
I think that Zig-Zak is open too and the climb back onto the Dog from the Monkey.
Just High Voltage on the Dog and Tight Squeeze, Lower Cliff on the Monkey closed now I think.

I'm riding tomorrow so may well pop by to sample Bomb Hole. I'll let you know what's it's like if I do! |

I only ventured to the cafe at birches with the wife for lunch and Yeh it seamed rammed but with a lot of noobs it looked like loads of family riders mom dad n kids which is great but as long as they keep the trail etiquette going it's all good

SOC has grown on me, was a bit upset first time I rode it after they "fixed it" but I like it now. I will be upset though if they do that to all the trails.

Yeah, im getting that feeling to, hope they dont do it to lower cliff, dont think the local a and e would cope with lots of peeps not making the bends and flying off the hill. Would make for some good gopro footage though:-)

Shit? or character building??  I would not call it character building  .... Of all the trail centres ive ridden cannocks surface has a lot to be desired ....  Even when it's bloody dry it's evil .... I had more for in the slop yesterday off pista than on the short bit of the dog I did ... Two wheel sliding = world of pain ... On its way ... Lol but each each to there own ps I don't need any more character building I'm a bigger enough nob as it is   |

I don't like the re-done Bomb Hole section. Bit rubbish really. Trees really close to the insides of the corners so that you can't lean the bike over, combined with an off camber surface and flat trail results in a whole lot of mlehhh....

This sounds like they've ruined Cannock. I enjoyed it last May, even though the weather was utter shite. Think I'll wait until the end of summer to give it a whirl.

I think it's ok! but it will get better as it gets 'rougher'. Couple of new features which are good and lets face it it wasn't exactly thrilling before!

Yeah i had chance to ride the bomb hole for the first time saturday and must say that it was alright, i quite enjoyed it. Hubby bust a spoke not far after the stegosaurus and the tyre wenr down. He tried to blow it up but the tyre was having none of it. In the end he had to go back to swinnos to get an inner tube. I just seems that running tubeless is a bit shit if the tyres are gonna deflate for something like a broken spoke. That slime stuff didnt stop it either. Like a good loyal wife i let him do the walk of shame to the carpark alone, while i finished the dog:-)

On the Bomb Hole - there's a set of rock steps on the right hand side.

We were at the bottom of the climb that takes you up to watch out trolls. The black section on the bomb hole is after the smallish rock garden into the berm (bomb hole). Its as you come to the next switch back/turn. If you go round the bend you missed the black,it is just before the bend. Its some rocky steps.

It's called a black but it ain't really - in fact I missed it entirely first two times and only saw it as a way to get past a slower rider who wouldn't pull over! Kalli... my kind of gal!  |
