Simon Howe down into Goathland is an awesome run , not silly steep but very varied and fast singletrack do you have a strava link, or any more details?

Don't do Strava , look at Goathland on OS map and simon howe is a mile or two south west , just follow the bridleway from the top back into Goathland , may have a gpx file of a circular route incorperating it somewhere

Llarig Ghru in the Cairngorms gets my vote, the most stunning bit of natural single track I've ridden, technical, fast and flowing. Went to ride it again last year when trying to follow a MBR route through the Chalamain Gap (massive boulder field, boulders size of old minis) leading down onto Llarig Ghru and turned back as too much extreme hike a bike, will try again in the future.

It's no lakes or peaks but rocky road at hamsterley is a rush hitting it flat out.
