Some good clips there. I don't recognise the bits in the 3rd and 4th clip, what are they (or called)? the 4th one looks quite good and I have no idea where that pops you out at the end with the girders?

I just checked out your route on Strava, hope you don't mind, and can see that those bits are starting from the right hand track at the Mast just before San Marino, just about every time I've climbed up there Ive gone down San Marino so I may give that a try next time. I take it that you need some fairly dry conditions along that wall /quarry route?

Is it worth a trip mate can you extend the loop ?

You can extend loops around Rivington up to 25 to 30 miles if you add on runs out towards white coppice and the downhill trail at healer nab. Lots of variation up there up there Gaz.

I was going to suggest that when you head up for the postponed gisburn ride, that you stop and do the best bits of rivington on the way back, killing two birds with one stone. Your legs would have revived by the time you get there, and it's handy for the motorways thus breaking up your journey back a bit.

Hmmm? Can't quite place where the last video is, I know all the others but not that one. I'm not too familiar myself Macky but I'll try . The start of it is directly across from the climb upto the mast road . The strave link is above if that helps you see it better .

I take it that you need some fairly dry conditions along that wall /quarry route? No worries Kirky . Yeah they all lead off on the right hand side of the mast road . You can just do one of them then head right back onto the mast road or if you go left you get 2 more pretty good descents (3 and 4 on the vids) . As your heading back , you pass the start of the mast road so if you wanted to do San Marino , it's an option

When did you get your bike back Ste? Last Tuesday. Just in time for the peaks ride last Wednesday. They replaced the rocker and I got the pivot bearings replaced free as well

They might as well just leave the crap ! I@ve been going midweek so it's not too busy Macky

Hiya mate, sorry for late reply (smashed my beloved phone but that's another story) I've just looked at the section on your strava, I think it's the proper wilderswood descent, i didn't recognise it as I never go that way, I always for some reason start wilderswood at the other side towards the dog kennels, looks a good one though so i might give it a go next time i'm up there. That quarry descent looks good to, I've only ever climbed that, so it'll be nice to come down it

I'm up for that mate. I'm not an expert on the area but I could definitely put a decent ride together

Hi Ste. I headed up to rivi this morning and tried to follow your route from the mast.
The first part from the gate after the boardwalk was very good down to the steps but from there I couldn't find the quarry descent and every body I asked had no idea. We did a right at the end After the steps and then followed a track around that put us back on the climb to the mast so back went back up and down the San marino. Just as well really as climbing there for second time was already taking its toll on our legs and at least we didn't have to climb all the back from barn.
I'll print it out or plot into my GPs for next time. Managed to find a better line throuhh the deep rut section this time. Plodded down some bits as my mate was on a zc type handrail and I didn't want to leave him too far behind.

The first time today that I've had a puncture since last June. Cut my sidewall open going down the ice cream run went just after the lump of Tarmac. I think I dropped off onto a jagged rock, tried to coast down but eventually burped off and had to carry down. Was asking too much for the stans fluid to fix this one. Off to order some grids or Evos as a replacement.
