so the brakes are on the wrong side? is there enough length on the front brake to switch them?

You just need to swap the levers over on the bars (European set up is front/left right/rear) - hose length won't change. Unless it has integrated shifters etc. then you'll need to disconnect an reconnect/bleed etc.

Oh yeah it has a matchmaker (or my LTD edition one did) so you will just have to swap the hoses over. it's as easy as pulling the rubber guard off, undoing the bolt and pulling out the hose and swapping over. 5 minutes maximum.

is there any bleeding to be done?
of course there will... im swapping hoses!
might not bother for all the messing around, I don't want to buy a new bike and then have to f*ck around bleeding the bloody brakes.

Swapping levers is a small easy price to pay for a bike like that

just spoke to commencal, turns out I wont need to swap the hoses, even though it has a matchmaker it doesn't matter it will fit either brake levers, so I just take the levers off the bar and switch, there is enough length on the hoses to do that.

so we have a solution and I'm going to use a word the pros use. I'm totally stoked right now! The bike I originally ordered, I will receive, they are shipping one from commencal USA and I will receive it by the beginning of next week.
Could have done without the hassle but I had to kick up a bit of a fuss to get what I wanted.

100% worth it.
