Bit short notice but if anyone can make it I'm heading up to the peaks again on Sunday, I'll be starting at the upper Derwent visitor centre (fairholmes) postcode S330AQ, I'll be there at 8am and ride starts at 8:15am, first part of the route is a 20 mile out and back over Cutgate to Langsett and back, around 3hrs and 3000ft of ascent. Second loop will be around 10-20 miles again starting at the visitor centre but heading up whinstone lee tor, hagg fm, beast, hope brink, then possibly bradwell, cavedale depending on my legs. All welcome, just to note though iI'll be starting at 8:15 prompt, so if you see a green astra but no bike I've already set off, sounds harsh but I've been pissed about so much over the last few years those are the rules. Oh and no grumpy fcukers, turn up, ride, smile

Haha, I have to put it like as I've been pissed about so much I gave up riding with folk as it was toi much like hard work trying to organise rides. I used to advertise the rides in a few facebook groups but the amount of dickheads who own bikes and are wannabe mtbers is unreal, for instance one guy from wigan last year asked to join a ride so I gave him the postcode for hope valley, he then told me he was gonna ride there, so that's a 60 mile road ride, then a 30 mile off road ride, then a 60 road ride home, the bellend!
The rides themselves are very laid back, we ride at the speed of the slowest person and never leave anyone, on the descents it's every man for himself, then regroup at the bottom before moving on etc etc.
I've just found if I don't spell it out in plain English all the knobheads crawl out from dreamland and fk me around.

Worst one was some cock turned up for a local xc loop on a bitterly cold day, think it was about minus 3 or something, anyway after about 6 mile he kept lagging behind so we'd stop and let him catch up, after the third time I went back to see what was wrong and the fcuker was watching football on his phone! Never again did he ride with me!

I'm at a wedding on Saturday so will be in no fit state to be riding my bike . I will definitely join you on one of your biking adventures soon though Macky . I might have to quit after 1 loop though . That's about the furthest I've ridden off road .

I would love to join one of your peaks rides Macky (apart from your 40miles+ epics) but made other plans for this weekend.
If you arrange any more maybe with a tad more notice I will be all over it.
Cheers

I only ever plan a ride from Wednesday as that's when the 5 day forecast comes up with Sunday's weather, so I'll pick the place with the best weather then go from there, then I'll check again Friday before i advertise it.

Have a good one.

Yeah it wasn't bad mate, gorgeous weather which made it all the more better, did Cutgate to Langsett and back then had a break whilst my mate who killed his tyre on a rock, that was the first 20 miles, then after the break we hit Whinstone lee tor, cheekytrail, haggside, hagg farm, beast, win hill, edge farm descent, cutthroat, whinstone lee tor, then finish. All in all a thoroughly good day, 41 miles, 6500ft of ascent, 9.5hrs ride. Not many pics though as i was having to much fun... First one, get the bragging rights out of the way haha The Sarge hitting the stream crossing at the bottom of the awesome descent at Cranberry clough Stu nailing the stream crossing too. The Retrobike group outing that we pretty much crossed Cutgate with, cracking bunch of guys And finally one of moire

41 miles, 6,500 ft of climbing and 9.5 hours.
I need to earn the right to ride with you Macky - and right now I'm a million miles off it.
Fair play Guv.

that`s a fair old ride there mate.a peaks 40 miler would ruin me. I rode langsett-cranberry clough-langsett last sunday morning and a guy on a fatty was doing the same in the opposite direction.second time I saw him I said "are you macky?" but he either didn`t hear me or chose to ignore me
