ok im making this a macc. forest/cat and fiddle ride.its classed as white peaks but more like dark peaks. i'll work out a route in next few days but it basically can start in buxton or at the cat and fiddle pub.typical peaks stuff with forest tracks thrown in. maybe next time ste? and i'll make it a cutgate ride

Does that ride have any singletrack on it Glynn ? Is there any forest ? I'm just being a bit nosey here as the only pics I have seen were in MBR and there just seemed to be miles of doubletrack with not a tree in sight

It has some singletrack, and part of the ride runs through macclesfield forest, which has real trees. .........lol you're not thinking of peak forest are you? Which doesnt have many trees as its the name of a village and its the start of the peak to peak ride

righty ho then! route sorted.meet place is in buxton, im always a bit wary of posting up the exact location for everyone to see, just in case scum bags want to target cars while we're miles away riding. unlikely I know but that's just me.i'll private message the exact place to anyone who wants to join us. the route is basically from buxton, over the moors to the cat & fiddle pub, second highest in England apparently, down towards three shires head where Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire meet on a little stone bridge,we can have a conversation with each other from 3 different counties, head over to macc. forest for a loop, then a stiff climb back to the cat & fiddle retrack back to the start. its another shortish route of about 18 miles [edit] 20 miles, but you'll know about it when we've finished. next time i'll do a peaks all day epic

excellent ride from home today, absolutely loving the in-bred in these dry firm conditions.found a couple more trails that I didn't know of. I was riding solo so was taking scenic selfies again.
