I am arranging a ride with a difference.
Sunset to sunrise.
I have discussed this with Sam from Bikanic Yorkshire. He is willing to put this together with a route which will take in some of the best parts of the Yorkshire Dales. Regular stops at secret locations for a food and drink, using huts hidden away. Then good food at the end of the ride. Possibly a BBQ.
Looking at the 27th of June, from 22:00 - 05:00. (Lights will be required)
There will be a small charge to cover the cost of the food.
The route will be aprox. 30 miles and for those that have ridden there before, will know it will include a far bit of climbing.
He will be providing good back up service with 1st aid and recovery service, which hopefully will not be required.
If you are interested please let me know so we can give him an idea of numbers.

I was wanting to do a similar thing in the Cairngorms last year ...Scotrail have a 55 club ..where spookily enough you have to be over 55 ( which not too many on here would qualify for ! ) but basically cheap rail fare .and I liked the idea of biking from dusk til dawn ..but couldn't get it to work in terms of linking things up with the trains .. Brilliant idea ..but I can't make it . Hope it all works out though!

I'd need to carry a generator with me for my lights to last that long.. Very interesting though.

I like the sound of this, unfortunately im working. being near to the longest day,it should only need about 5 or 6 hours of bikelight, maybe even less if its a clear sky. that'll be just two sets of batteries, and a backup set.last year I did a mam tor sunrise ride. set off from home for a 3am start to be on mam tor for sunrise.really enjoyed it.

The new franchise will be starting a Club 50 soon but I don't think it will be as good as the previous.
