What is the best bike/riding related advice you have been given? and from whom?
For me, the best advice I have ever been given is to ride with faster/better riders and try to keep up. I've been sticking to this for years now. It was given to me by an old mukka, Keith, who was responsible for me starting to ride in the first place.. He owes me thousands of £'s...

Always go at the pace of the slowest rider in the group ...which is sound advice but I have never actually put that to the test ..because that's usually me !

Laser dick!
In other words - point your crotch in the direction you want to go. Only read this on STW a few weeks ago but it works: cornering confidence and hence speed is increasing.
How to pump a jump properly - Andy from Dirt School. I'm still crap at jumping though.

Commit to it don't go in half arsed to a drop or a jump or it will end in tears.
Also. It will still be there tomorrow if you don't feel up to it.

Hubby had tried to teach me to ride down rocky sections for ages, but I was having non of it, then one day at degla hubby wanted to go down the black section,I said no, so he just rode off and went down it anyway, I was so angry I chased after him screaming "you f@#!ing t@#t, I hate you, I want a f@#!ing divorce" ect ect, I was so angry that I hadn't realized the first rock garden was there until I was half way down and then it dawned on me, I can ride this shit after all and i've been riding it eversince. Its not advice but it helped me overcome a big sticking point

You don't look at your feet when your walking so don't look at your wheel when your riding. In other words, head up and look down the trail.

its funny how you can read all the mags and watch the tutorials, and you can get in a right twaddle trying to put it into practice. then someone can say something that simplifies it and it suddenly clicks. one that always sticks in my mind is for riding a drop-off, even just a small one. keep good momentum, then think of the lip of the drop-off as the finish line in a race with another rider neck and neck. as your front wheel approaches the finish line, push the whole bike in front of you as if to get over the finish line first.doing this you should find that you are in the perfect position on the bike.

''Have fun''
''Your bike will follow your eyes, so look at the trail and not that tree that will hurt if you hit it''
