Sort of. I crashed in my practice run and cut my arm open. Had to go to hospital and get stitches so I wasn't able to race. unlucky dude.the area round the dbc is a good tester for fitness,i do my share of pushing going over fremi edge way.i like it though cos there`s some cracking dows to make up for the slog Cheers, it did seem like a great place to ride as well, can't wait for next year. Hopefully, I won't fall off again!

Got my boy a balance bike as soon as he was big enough and he picked it up in no time. Bought him a cheap bike for his fourth birthday, took the stabilisers off and tried him round the garden, just about got it, took him the park, pushed him off and away he went, pedaling like a mad man and has been great on a bike ever since.
He's got a 20" with twist grip gears at the mo, want to get him a 24" with 'proper' gears off santa this crimbo.
We did 10 miles along the canal the other week and he didn't complain once, my arse was fookin killing me !

My 8 year old wasn't interested in mtb until I started to bribe him with chocolates pr an icecream after a ride. He loves now though ( but I still have to remember the chocolates!!!). The kid's love it over Sandwell valley, there's some small mtb tracks that are great to teach them berms rockgardens ect and a park to reward all their hard work. My son was the same with rock climbing. He wouldn't go more than 3-4 metres up a rock wall. One day I offered him a slice of any cake he wanted from the cafe if he made it to the top. He went straight up and now does so every time we go. He still requires cake at the end of the session.

As has been said mate, count yourself lucky at the moment that he is an active child ! You couldnt get two different sets of kids than mine and my sister in laws .. I have two girls, 9 & 6 and a boy ,3 .. All of whome are active, love their bikes (boy on a balance bike) loves working with me on the car .. Girls are really active, whether playing in the garden, out infront of the house or going to their dancing lessons twice a week. My In-laws, slightly older now, but at the same age, were OBSESSED with video games. Never do anything active. Play all night and sleep all day. Not even the gash pulls the older ones away ! Makes me sad that they miss so much of the world.
I inted on getting all three of mine out on some trails as soon as I get the boy riding his single speed.
